Introducing the Pear Deck Add-on for Google Classroom, making it easier for teachers and students to engage in formative assessments and active learning experiences.

The perfect pair is now an even more dynamic duo! Thanks to an enhanced partnership between Pear Deck and Google Classroom, teachers and students will be able to start and join Sessions faster than ever before. With the introduction of the Pear Deck add-on for Google Classroom, users will have more access to features to support them in the classroom.

Pear Deck Premium users can access or create lessons directly from within Google Classroom, all with single sign-on. This partnership makes it even easier for teachers to transform lessons into powerful formative assessments and active learning experiences for every student, every day.

Save valuable instruction time with this seamless integration

Now teachers can create a new Pear Deck lesson in Google Slides to add to their Google Classroom, or select an existing file from their Drive. When they’re ready to present to the class, they can save the lesson and it will appear for assigned students.

Students can join Sessions directly with no code needed, and teachers can control the pace of the lesson, view real-time student progress, and provide feedback. When the lesson is complete, students will be prompted to turn in their assignments. Teachers can then review and assess Session material directly from within Google Classroom.

Jennifer Gruhlke, a World Language-Spanish teacher for grades 9-12 at Plainfield District 202, said:

"The best feature is being able to check off each student's individual responses within Classroom without having to switch to another program. I also like having the ability to see each student's responses singled out. Plus, Google tells me if and when a student completes it, preventing the need for excessive back-and-forth communication."
