A Look Back at ISTE 2019

It’s hard to believe, but this year’s ISTE has already come and gone! The Pear Deck team came back from Philadelphia feeling energized and inspired by all the incredible educators we met. If you couldn’t make it to ISTE this year, don’t worry! We’ll recap all the highlights for you. Watch our video above, or read on for all the details!

The Pear Deck Booth

This year, our booth was the biggest and best one yet! We spoke to thousands of passionate educators, handed out tons of Pear Deck swag, and hosted nearly two dozen guest speakers. Familiar faces like Stacey Roshan, Kasey Bell, Marlena Hebern, and Matt Miller stopped by to sign books and demonstrate how they use Pear Deck, and new friends like the Newsela team came to say hello. And of course, Peary made time for selfies!

All Around ISTE

Pear Deck’s presence wasn’t just in our own booth! Our team gave guest demos at the EdTechTeam and Clever booths, showed off how easy it is to build a lesson at the Google booth, and walked teachers through our brand-new PowerPoint and Teams integrations at the Microsoft booth. And if you stopped by the Be Internet Awesome kiosk in the Google booth, you might have taken home a tote bag featuring a certain familiar pear.

The Student Voice Speakeasy

Pear Deck was proud to co-sponsor the Student Voice Speakeasy at Franklin Music Hall with some of our favorites from the edtech community! Peary and the team had fun mingling with teachers, learning about all the tools educators are using to promote student voice in the classroom, and of course, catching up with our friends at Flipgrid.

#NotAtISTE

We know lots of our faithful users can’t make it to ISTE, so we made sure to keep our social channels up to date so you didn’t miss out on the action! We gave away swag, shared quotes from our in-booth guest presenters, and asked what teaching means to you (and you knocked our socks off with your answers!).

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth, chatted with us on Twitter, or just spread the word about Pear Deck. The best part of these events is getting to spend time with talented, hard-working educators like you. We’ll see you in Anaheim in 2020!
