EiE: Extreme Precipitation, Gr 6–8
Pear Deck has partnered with EiE®, The Boston Museum of Science’s award-winning curricula division, to engage students in learning and discussion about climate change. With these ready-to-teach lessons powered by Pear Deck, students can explore how our actions affect the environment, and how they can leverage this knowledge to make a positive difference in the world.
Students examine precipitation data to draw conclusions about the changes in Earth’s climate since the mid-20th century. A video introduction discusses how increased temperatures have caused more extreme precipitation. Students then explore their local environments to suggest methods for mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions and adaptation to extreme precipitation.
